CLARIN’S HOUSE OF SUMAN — MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL
Established in 2009 as part of the local government unit’s (LGU) One-Town, One-Product (OTOP), Clarin’s House of Suman is a popular stop amongst locals and tourist, making suman as one of the top 10 most popular “pasalubong ng bayan” throughout the Philippines.
Suman House has seven flavors that appealed to many people. These flavors are: balintawak (bestseller), chocolate suman, suman pinya, langka suman, peanut suman, buko suman and durian suman.
But it’s not only the taste that House of Suman special. Making this well-loved Pinoy delicacy has benefited the community of Clarin. Thanks to the efforts of local government, 30 families have now livelihood to send their children to school.
You can enjoy suman for only P6 (plain) & Php 8.50 (flavored) each.
The House of Suman make about 3000 pieces a day and most are sold by day’s end.
Their shelf life is only good for three days when refrigerated but I’m sure it won’t last that long.
Other than buying pasalubong for family and friends, House of Suman also serves Sikwate, a rich local hot chocolate which is a perfect accompaniment with any suman flavors.
Suman ng Clarin is a must item to bring home when you are in Misamis Occidental or even when exiting via Ozamiz. You will make your tummy happy and change the Mindanao image that you have of the region.
