Filipinos are very hospitable, friendly and honest. This is what our parents taught us growing up. No matter where we go these characteristics would always be there. Just as the bible verse said: “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
The Facebook page Filipino Ako, Filipino Ikaw, Ako ay Lahing Filipino shared a picture that’s gone viral. It was photos of a Filipina who was given an award for returning the money and some check she found.
Mae Anne Olmidillo, a 27-year-old Filipino is working a bartender in Dubai. She returned 195000 UAE Dirham and some check to the Dubai Police.
“Hindi po ako nagdalawang isip na ibalik yung pera sa nagma-may-ari. Hindi po akin yun at alam kong may return si God para sa akin. Maraming salamat po,” the filipina bartender said.
The Dubai Police was really amazed and applaud with what Olmidillo had done and given her an award for her honesty.
